About our Speaker:
Earlier in my life l was a Primary School teacher, most of my teaching was done at Monbulk Primary School. I had always sewn but never quilted. When my mum died one of my workmates offered to teach me how to quilt. I was hooked. One night on the way to way to a footy game my girlfriend mentioned that l should open a quilt shop. That night l ran the idea by my husband and he was encouraging. The planning began. In March 2004 I opened Mrs Martin’s Quilt Shop in a house in Monbulk. 10 years later l decided to move the shop home, it’s open 3 days a week, I run 4 Sewing Circles during the week and on weekends l often pack my up little shop and and head out to small quilt shows and stitching days.
